Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin

The first in a series as we celebrate Women's History Month and the accomplishments of women in Physics. Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin's 1925 doctoral thesis posited that stars were composed primarily of hydrogen and helium, conventional wisdom at the time held that there were no significant elemental differences between the Sun and Earth.
