鶴見大島
佐伯市の東約15km、鶴見半島先端近くの豊後水道に浮かぶ、小さな大島。島の東側は太平洋の荒波が打ち寄せる断崖絶壁で、豊後水道自然公園に指定され、雄大な景観は目を見張るものがある。西側に船隠・田野浦・地下の３集落がある。一本釣漁業が主産業で男たちが腕一本でささえる漁業の島である。最近、島の西側に沖合養殖場が造成され、ブリ、タイなどが養殖されている。その品質は素晴らしく、市場の評価は高い。佐伯湾口の交通の要衝に位置することから、慶長11年（1606）に毛利佐伯藩の船番所が置かれて開発が進んだといわれ、加茂神社や「とび太鼓」などの文化遺産、「壇の窓」に代表される自然のおりなす景観が素晴らしい。（「シマダス」参照）
Tsurumi Oshima
About 15 km east of Saiki City, a small Oshima floating in the Bungo Channel near the tip of the Tsurumi Peninsula. The east side of the island is a precipitous cliff that is flooded by rough waves in the Pacific Ocean, designated as the Bungo Suido Natural Park, and the magnificent landscape is spectacular. There are three villages on the west side, Funaida, Tanoura and underground. It is an island of fishing where men are the main industry and single-handed fishing is the main industry. Recently, offshore aquaculture farms have been created on the west side of the island, and yellowtail, Thailand, etc. have been cultivated. Its quality is great and the market rating is high. Because it is located at the key point of traffic at Sakai Bay exit, it is said that the boathouse of Morisato is put in place and development is progressing in Keicho 11 (1606), cultural heritage such as Kamo Shinto shrine and "Tobi drum", The scenery of the natural atmosphere represented by the window of the platform is wonderful.
