Does Defoliating Fruit Tree Leaves Actually Increase Dormancy and Chill Hours? Find Out!

Here on our property we like to take little experiments and put them to work in our orchard and vineyard. This year we are practicing the effectiveness of manually defoliating our Tropic Sweet and Anna Apple trees. The theory is that it will increase the dormancy of high chill hour trees and possibly increase chances of flower and fruit production.
