Fortune AI Editor Jeremy Kahn leads a panel at Brainstorm AI in London to discuss advancements Google has made to their AI software Gemini. Jeremy welcomes Zoubin Ghahramani, VP, Research at Google DeepMind, Marc Warner, CEO of Faculty, and Anne Phelan, CSO at BenevolentAI to the stage to discuss the latest on Gemini and how it is potentially transformative.
The panel chats about how Faculty helped a lot of different businesses to try to figure out how to implement AI technology as well as local government do this, to some extent. Marc shares that people need to think about these platforms in a human-centric way and that they are tools to be used in combination with people.
They also dive into how BenevolentAI is using AI to help with drug discoveries in the health industry. Anne says that 95% of drugs don't make it through clinical development to launch and it costs something in the region of $2.5 billion per drug to develop. With BenevolentAI, they are trying to cut down on those costs and improve the success rate of drugs that can enter the market.
