In April 2013, Warner Brothers Studios and Legendary Pictures will present "42" the biography of Jackie Robinson who integrated major league baseball. A year before Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball, Woody Strode integrated the National Football League. He went on to win the Grey Cup for the Calgary Stampeders in Canada, wrestled professionally against Gorgeous George and Baron Leone, and became a movie star before the Civil Rights movement opened the door for Sidney Poitier. One day soon Strode's story will be told. Until then, I will keep his memory in the public mind. The screenplay "Hardballers" about the Kenny Washington and Woody Strode has been circulating in Hollywood for several years now.
