“The Narrative Wasn’t About Us” || Denver Nuggets Mini-Movie

The Denver Nuggets have been a very unlucky team in recent NBA memory. Following their stellar run to the Western Conference Finals in the bubble the team couldn't manage to stay healthy. Jamal Murray tore his ACL and missed two postseason runs while Michael Porter Jr missed one postseason run due to a back injury. While those guys missed time, all eyes turned to the Joker, who went on to become a two-time MVP in 2021 and 2022. However, Jokic's MVPs were met with heavy criticism due to a lack of playoff success and narrative. Nick Wright even went as far as to call Jokic the worst MVP in 35 years! Other "analysts" like Kendrick Perkins called him a "stat-padder". But Nikola Jokic and company just proved everyone wrong! Winning their first NBA championship in franchise history and reviving the narrative around the franchise! But as Coach Michael Malone said following game two of the Lakers series, "The Narrative Wasn't About the Nuggets."
