Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson needs little introduction. Young Jim Hawkins, at the Admiral Benbow Inn, falls in with Billy Bones, meets Blind Pew, then teams up with Squire Trelawny, Captain Smollett and Dr. Livesey, who charter a ship, the Hispaniola, and hire a crew that includes the affable 'Long' John Silver. What Jim learns in the apple barrel on deck changes everything: an early example of the importance of your five-a-day. Look out for Ben Gunn, the mad maroon, who knows how to salt a goat for future consumption.

It is read by Greg Wagland, who attempts several accents from the South West, not necessarily the South West of England, sadly ;-) Recorded with a very nice antipodean valve microphone and then rather brutally mastered.
