The workers' committees of Porto Marghera existed, under various names, throughout the 1960s to 1980s. This group of workers, related to the 'workerist' current in Italy during these years, and through their struggle against 'noxiousness', the workers of Porto Marghera developed a working-class environmentalism that has often been overlooked in many histories of workers' and environmental struggles.
In this public discussion event, we were joined by Lorenzo Feltrin, a researcher of this 'workerist environmentalism', and recent translator into English of the work 'Against Noxiousness', originally authored by the workers of Porto Marghera fifty years ago.
