In this short video essay, we follow former Ozeki Takayasu who has shown promise in the last March 2022 Grand Sumo Tournament. Has he finally recovered from past injuries and on his way to a miraculous comeback to sumo's 2nd highest rank - Ozeki?

Quick Disclaimer: The "subtitles" in the interview shown on the first part of the video is placed artistically than an accurate translation of what Takayasu is saying in that certain moment. In the whole interview with a TV show in the Philippines (https://youtu.be/HyDA_5VyFk8), he talks about his struggle with sumo and how he isn't able to spend time in his own home because of how sumo takes up all of his time. His statement was where I got my inspiration to write this piece - about how he longs for his home. I thought it was interesting to tie it back to how he ran away from his stable multiple times during his early days in sumo too. So please, it was artistic... ok? :D :D

Editor's notes:
The reason this video is only 4 minutes long but took me ages to edit is because of the graph shown at 0:35 it took me HOURSSSS to make!!! I had to equate every rank in sumo on a single linear scale so I can make an animated graph on a spreadsheet to show his ups and downs before reaching Makuuchi. And it only appears for less than 10 seconds in the video. T_T But I do it for the love of graphs.
