Russia Panic: Germany Deploys new missiles to Ukraine
Germany will send US-made Patriot air defense systems and missiles to Ukraine at a “critical time” as Kyiv struggles to defend its energy systems from Russian bombing, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
More than two years after the full-scale invasion, Russia has launched three major airstrikes against power plants and substations in recent weeks, prompting Kyiv to issue a desperate plea for high-end air defense supplies.
“I thanked the chancellor for the decision to supply other additional Patriot systems to Ukraine, as well as missiles for existing air defense systems,” Zelensky said after speaking by telephone with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday.
