August 12, 2019 – Drake has been kind of a big deal on the charts. Since 2009 he's charted 45 hits on the Billboard Top 40 charts. In July 2018 he had seven songs in the Billboard Top 10 beating the previous record of five by the Beatles. Three months later he broke the record for most Top 10 tunes in a single year.
Well, Drake beat a Beatles’ record for number of charted songs on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10. Drake now has 35 charted songs, and The Beatles had 34. So celebrate Drake got himself a new tattoo. He has many after all, A jack-o-lantern, Aaliyah, The CN Tower, Denzel Washington, a flaming skull, an emoji praying hands, a more realistic set of praying hands, Rihanna eating ice cream, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant. Now he has the four Beatles on his arm via the famous Abbey Road cover. Now that would have been cheeky but still fine but Drake put himself in the tattoo with his arm up in front of the fab four.
Well, many Beatles fans are fighting mad. Fans were saying things like “The Beatles earned their sales records the old-fashioned way. People actually bought the music,” or “Nobody will remember Drake in 50 years.”
Another comment read, “No. He has so many records because nowadays when you drop an album, every single track is individually streamable, making it chart eligible. In the Beatles, or Michael Jackson or Madonna's day you would release a single and then maybe months later.........release another one. Understand the difference?”

John Beaudin has been in major market radio (Edmonton, Vancouver & Calgary) for 35 years and a music journalist since 1989. He graduated from Broadcasting school as a newsman so he would have the skills to write about the artists that inspired him since he bought his first album, “Madman Across The Water” by Elton John as a teen. In the '80s Beaudin was the host of the syndicated radio show “The Cross Canada Report” which had two versions (Rock and A/C). Beaudin was also asked to be a judge at the Juno Awards (Canada's answer to the Grammys) Twice. He has anchored every position in radio including morning and afternoon drive and was a Program and Music Director for The Breeze and California 103 in Calgary. He currently hosts the popular Lovesongs at QM-FM in Vancouver and on iHeartRadio.
