A new collaboration model with creative label PERIMETRON has been launched from the MY G-SHOCK customisation service, which allows users to create their own personalised model by combining the colours of the parts.
This model is based on the theme "We Bring Everything Back to Life." and features an Unidentified Mysterious Animal (UMA) as a representation of the watch as a whole.
Let Shu Sasaki, producer and director of PERIMETRON, and Koudai Mori, designer and art director, tell you about the particulars of the design, which has a somewhat sci-fi feel.
Inspired by the patterns of deep-sea creatures, the parts are all clear, on which abstract patterns with blurred outlines are drawn. The band is printed with a pattern inspired by "organic undulations and irregular transparency". The bezel is printed in such a way that there is no colour border with the dial, and at first glance it appears to have a different shape to the square dial.
The LCD has a black base with red digital indications floating on it, and the dial has a solid finish with no indications other than the logo created especially for this model.
On the packaging and the back of the dial, they put an engraving that says 'WE BRING EVERYTHING BACK TO LIFE'. In other words, it means 'breathing life into the product'" (Sasaki).
