A dreamy morning on the Gold Coast provided a high-performance showcase for men’s superheats to decide head-to-head, Round of 16 bouts before a tough afternoon tested the world’s contenders. An electric showing from defending event winner Samuel Pupo and Ian Gouveia provided a highlight heat alongside the likes of Brazilian standouts Joao Chianca and Alejo Muniz, plus Japanese threat Hiroto Ohhara for familiar faces. But, newcomers are surging with Josh Burke, Charly Quivront, plus rising Australian threats Dakoda Walters and Oscar Berry pushing their performances into the Round of 16.

The Challenger Series is back, and the journey to Championship Tour qualification starts at Snapper Rocks. Veterans and rookies are looking to elevate themselves to the highest platform of professional surfing with this famed right-hander as their backdrop. Across the six-event gauntlet, the sport’s most promising talents battle against former CT competitors to become one of the 10 men and five women who qualify for the Championship Tour and earn their place among the world’s best surfers.
