A shamrock, or three leaf clover, is a symbol of Ireland and is found everywhere in the country. It has three leaves, representing the Holy Trinity – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

It also symbolizes faith, love and hope. Shamrocks are easy to find and not rare at all.

Four leaf clover, on the other hand, is super rare – about 1 for every 10,000 shamrocks. It’s very hard to find, so when a person does find one one, it symbolizes stumbling upon good luck and fortune.

It also represents protection and balance. Four leaf clover is relatively abundant in Ireland, which is why we say the luck of the Irish.
