MH4G: Guide to the New Rare Kinsects (Glaive)
A Japanese player has spent a lot of time to create a guide on how to raise the 4 new and best Kinsects in MH4G (http://nantonakugamekei.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-41.html).
Types of Food
All these recipes use 上虫餌 which you can buy from the wyverian trader once you unlock it as you play through the village. Each time after a quest his line-up will change. It took me many times for the speed bugs to be on sale, but in the end you should be able to buy high-grade food for all 3 types. Buy as many as you need before starting.
- Super Balanced Type
This bug is called either スアルジャーロン or ドスエルドラーン. Its skills are:
- All Status Up (L)
- Recover Effect Up (L) & Status Recovery
- Extract+1
That’s right, now only does it get balanced stamina (send it off 8 times before it gets tired) and is fast and strong, but green extract cures status ailments and you can store 2 extracts in the bug before calling it back, perfect for storing up 2 juices right before your triple up ends. It also recovers a crap load of health so less usage of potions.
Recipe:
*Once the gauge goes up, level up the bug. These are written in order you should feed the bug. DO NOT just feed them all of these and not level them up, once you hear that “CHING!” sound you should upgrade the bug then continue the process.
- Stamina x4, Power x19, Speed x2
- Stamina x4, Power x12, Speed x2
- Stamina x8, Power x23, Speed x4
- Speed x28
The names of the bugs as you upgrade are:
- マルドローン / クルドローン
- エボマルドローン / エボクルドローン
- アルジャーロン / エルドラーン
- ドスアルジャーロン / ドスエルドラーン
2. Power-Stamina Bug
This bug is called either オスパーダドゥーレ or アムルマリキータ. Its skills are:
- Attack and Stamina Up (L)
- Recover Effect Up (S)
- Extract Effect Extender + Affinity Attack
This makes it so that all extracts lasts for double the length. That’s 2 minutes for triple ups instead of 60 seconds, so this allows you to get really high DPS from the glaive. You want to max out speed to compensate for the lack of a speed skill.
Recipe:
- Power x19, Speed x5
- Speed x15
- Speed x10, Stamina x18
- Speed x19, max out with some 高級 power food
You’ll be able to send the bug off for 11 times, and it’ll be strong.
The names of the bugs as you upgrade are:
- マルドローン / クルドローン
- ザミールビートル / アルマスタッグ
- ケーニヒゴアビートル / モナークブルスタッグ
- アムルマリキータ / オスパーダドゥーレ
3. Power and Speed
This bug is called either サルヴァースタッグ or グランツビートル. Its skills are:
- Attack and Speed Up (L)
- Recovery Effect Up (S)
- Pierce Power UP
This third skill just makes it so that the bug does not bounce off (like Ukanlos’s chin). Not a big deal.
Recipe:
- Power x14, Speed x10
- Power x5, Speed x10
- Power x28
- Stamina x9, Powerx5, max out with 8 or so 高級 speed food
4. Speed and Stamina
This bug is called either シナトオオモミジ or ヴァルフリューゲル. Its skills are:
- Stamina and Speed Up (L)
- Recover Effect Up (S)
- Charge Time Down
The third skill makes it so that you can charge the bug in just 1 sec (instead of 3) so that you are doing damage as you use your bug.
Recipe:
- Stamina x19, power x5
- Power x15
- Power x10, Speed x18
- Power x19, Speed x9
I personally use the Crimson Fatalis Glaive with the effect extender bug and it lets me attack a lot. ^^
