I just got it and this is already one of the most useful items in my kitchen, I use it for something almost every time I cook. It's very well designed with its rubbery non-slip bottom, grip on the upper lip opposite the drain holes, drain holes that are large enough for water to flow through freely, yet thin things like grains of rice cannot escape, and the bowl is a good size for leafy greens.
Not sure how I got along without this bowl till now!!! Wash food, tip & drain!!!! Very well made, sturdy, durable and goes into the dishwasher. Perfect size and no slip, rubber bottom is great. Brilliant!!!

love mine so much - bought one for both sets of parents at christmas, as i use mine all the time, it speeds things up as you can wash and drain things in the same bowl. and is also great for people who struggle to hold a pan and a sieve at the same time, as it does both neatly and means you can keep two hands on the bowl when you pour off or reserve the liquid. really adds to safety in that activity if people are less able or strong as they used to be. a really big capacity too. I'm not a 'kitchen gadget' sort of person but this is very very useful.
Love this colander bowl! It's a great design and I like the curve of the handle edge. It's comfortable to hold and the drain holes are pretty small but because they are holes rather than mesh, they're easy to clean. I am able to rinse and drain lentils without them coming out, but I'm not sure I would try using it with quinoa. I really like the soft no-slip base, too.
As with many Joseph Joseph products, carrots and such will stain it. I am usually a bit of a stickler about aesthetics, but I think this is such a cute and convenient piece for the kitchen that I don't mind how easily it has been stained with carrot juice. I'd say minus one star total for the staining and the fact that the drainage holes go quite a ways down the side of the bowl, making the bowl have a lower capacity for liquid than I would really like. Just a couple of things to keep in mind! I'd still recommend it, though.
