The Parallax View 1974
I’m glad I finally checked out my Criterion of this one as I truly enjoyed it. To me this is an editor’s film. The jump cuts throughout are clearly intentional and build an expectation for the viewer that is eventually paid off later in the film.
The trippy montage shown to new recruits at the Parallax Corporation further demonstrates the talent of the film’s director Alan J. Pakula, and editor, John W. Wheeler. It’s kind of a brilliant short film…
