How do you do! In this clip, I show you a takeoff from Anchorage in a Boeing 747-8 ‘Superjet’ bound for Hong Kong. The takeoff weight was 434,000 KGS and departure was off runway 25L. The Flaps for takeoff were Flaps 20. There are only two flap settings used for takeoff on the Boeing 747. Flaps 10 or Flaps 20. The Data computer determines the optimum flap setting for takeoff depending on the data we request(which I showed you how last week). We can also force it to either Flaps 10 or Flaps 20 too based on conditions such as windshear reported or to attain a better second segment climb etc but in general, the data computer works well.I was pilot flying the sector back to Hong Kong last week. I indicate with cations what action is taking place such as flap retraction sequence and finally autopilot engagement. Hope you like it,
