Often lauded for it's amazing performance at an affordable price, it isn't without its flaws. 263hp/280lb-feet in a front driver comes at a cost.

That said, Mazda has done a great job at managing the beast under the hood. While the wheel does seem to wildly pull to the right just as the torque comes on strongest at 3,000RPM, it isn't unmanageable when you actually hold on to the wheel.

I'd like to see a comparable video from a first generation Mazdaspeed3 to get an idea of the differences in how Mazda wrangled in the torque steer with both software and different suspension/steering components.

The powertrain in this demo is unmodified.

Notes:
I did bounce off the rev limiter in 1st gear. I was too busy paying attention to where I was going. 6500RPM comes a lot sooner than you expect in 1st. I ran out of room for the 2nd gear run, but I did reach peak torque before letting off.

Please do not try this at home. Professional driver on a closed course.
