The term standard tension can be quite deceptive. Standard tension on a 3/16 oil ring is about 23 lb ft, but standard tension on a 3.0mm oil ring is just 12 lb ft. In this video, NHRA's Alan Rinehardt discusses the variables of standard tension with Lake Speed Jr.
