How Daimler and Benz Built the World’s Oldest Automaker and Disrupted the Industry

Daimler... Mercedes... Benz... That these terms have to do with cars is clear, but what exactly do they mean? And more importantly, how did they come to be the billion-dollar empires that they are today? In this video, we’ll tell you all that and more!

To uncover that, we need to travel back in time, all the way to the 19th century. The pioneers of automobile manufacture at that time were Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz.

Although the two German men never met personally, they ironically both developed the world's first automobiles in the very same year. However, it wasn’t until many decades later that Daimler-Benz would become a thing…and it was a merger that neither Gottlieb nor Carl celebrated.
