TV Antenna Signal Amplifier - Booster - Improve Over-the-Air TV Reception
One possible solution for improving the reception of a weak TV channel is using a video signal amplifier (sometimes called a ‘signal booster’). These are specifically made for boosting TV signals in the over-the-air television frequency range of 50-900 MHz (currently in North America the frequency range is from 54-608 MHz, or channels 2-36).
Some things to take into consideration:
Your TV antenna should be adjusted accurately to capture as much signal as possible. An outdoor antenna is always preferable to an indoor model. These amplifiers require a minimum signal (about 40% at least) to be able to stabilize the signal and prevent picture drop-out. They can not amplify a signal that is not there. Using a TV signal amplifier in an already-strong reception area can overload the signal on strong channels and possibly cause picture drop-out.
