🍚 *What is “Koshihikari rice”?
コシヒカリ (“Koshihikari”) rice is Japan’s most famous and most popular rice. Niigata is the number one producer of all koshihikari white rice in all of Japan.

🌾*About the restaurant*
Farm Front Seki Noen is a rice speciality store selling all things rice! Pick up a bag of rice to cook at home or some brown rice coffee, or sit and enjoy the view of their rice farm while eating freshly made rice balls. The shop’s mission is simple: to spread the word about Niigata’s delicious rice without any unnecessary additives, preservatives, or pesticides. Try some rice straight from one of the 10 rice paddies on the farm (which happens to be, unsurprisingly, right in front of the store!) and enjoy a taste of “the world’s most delicious rice” with the best view in Niigata!

🍙*What to eat*
We ordered 3 of Farm Front Seki Noen’s 塩おむすび, “salt musubi” (onigiri) and a sheet of their delicious chiba nori seaweed. The onigiri rice is cooked in a traditional clay pot and served with rice bran and karashi (Japanese mustard) pickles and green tea.
