Lebanese TikTok chef Abir El Saghir has gained millions of followers on social media for her short videos of recipes from around the world that she prepares with matching outfits and accessories
From a small town in Lebanon's west Bekaa, chef Abir El Saghir has reached millions around the world, with TikTok videos showing her cooking traditional dishes while dressed up with the corresponding country outfit.
"I know I am not giving recipes, but I am giving vibes,” El Saghir said.
Passionate about fashion and cooking, the 23-year-old combines both in her short videos. She makes a living from a clothes shop she runs in West Bekaa but enjoys being in the kitchen the most.
"I love cooking, I love preparing things and being in the kitchen. Filming was (meant) to share this love with people watching," El Saghir said from her house's kitchen in Jeb Jennin where she was preparing Lebanese traditional dishes.
El Saghir handles it all by herself. She goes shopping for the ingredients, cooks, films, edits and posts her videos.
"Yes, it is hard... but there is happiness. I am happy with what I am doing - so it feels like tiredness goes away," she added.
El Saghir's videos has millions of views on social media. One of them, she said, has 178 million, "more than half of the population of (the United States of) America."
The young social media sensation started her TikTok account in early 2021, first posting fashion content before turning to food. She has now posted videos for traditional dishes from more than 90 countries and gained more than 12 million followers.
"I used to coordinate clothes, now I coordinate food," El Saghir said, before going to complete and meticulously style her dishes.
