【今の私を作るもの】農業を地域の土台、問題のカギにしようと思ったきっかけ

農業と言っても色々なやり方がありますね。オランダと言って思い浮かぶのは、ハイテク・自動化のものかもしれませんし、アメリカなら大型機械・ピボット式灌漑システムかもしれません。限界集落で頑張っているお年寄りの方もいれば、都心部の市民農園で新たな取り組みをしている方もいます。

多種多様な農業、この中で私が、地域の土台・問題のカギとして、ライフスタイルとして、農業をやりたいと思ったきっかけを話します。

There are many ways of doing agriculture. Perhaps the Netherlands is associtated with automation and optimization, while the US is associated with big fields and pivot irrigation (or just my stereotypes?). There are elderly people working in a diminishing village, or entrepreneurs establishing community gardens in the middle of big cities.

With so many choices, why did I choose agriculture as the backbone of communities, as a lifestyle, as a way to connect people and solve social problems?
