Taking Japan's Hokkaido Snow Train from SAPPORO to ASAHIKAWA

I took the limited express Lilac from Sapporo to Asahikawa. Seats were reserved online and tickets were issued on the day at a ticket vending machine.　The trip to Asahikawa took about 1.5 hours.　　Please note that the penguin walk at Asahiyama Zoo is only available in winter when there is snow on the ground. More details are on the website. It was snowing quite a bit, but it was a valuable experience for me as I live in an area where it does not usually snow.
