For me, a day in Osaka is never complete without spending time with Osaka friends!

Before I received my living placement in Kyoto more than two years ago, I actually thought that I was going to be placed in Osaka! Despite the fact that I lived in Kyoto, I became well-acquainted with its bustling and friendly neighbor. Osaka is quite popular amongst foreigners thanks to its unique food and exciting (or chaotic) nightlife. This city is not suited to everyone's taste, but it's worth visiting to experience a louder and more colorful side of Japan - compared to what you may know.
In this Japan Vlog, I caught up with my friends Abi and Makoto in the city they are both from - though they actually met for the first time in this video. Come along as we browse Osaka's famous shopping arcades, say hello to the cheerful Glico man, enjoy Okonomiyaki, take a ride on a Ferris Wheel, and read our fortunes at Namba Shrine! I had such a wonderful time with my friends in Osaka and hope that you can enjoy this city as well until Japan eventually opens again.
