On this edition of the weekly buff we are proud to present a special story. Yes ladies and gentlemen Steve Wynns LaFerrari is back home in Las Vegas. A good customer of ours contacted us, and told Rich to get ready because he was bringing her back home to the desert, but the LaFerrari had paint issues. Lots of scratches, and swirls from previous buffing, and even some paint burns from previous work. We promised we would work our magic, and return the paint to its glory just like the day it left the Ferrari factory.
A LaFerrari is limited to 499 in the world, and each boast 949Hp and 664lb-ft torque along with a full carbon fiber body this car was made for one thing to be driven. It can also do 0-60 in2.6 and 0-100 in4.7 seconds with a top speed of 217 yes 217 miles an hour. This specific LaFerrari was previously owned by Steve Wynn, and the steering wheel has been customized with his name as this was during his ownership of the Las Vegas Ferrari Franchise.
When the car first arrived at Gloss IT HQ we began obviously by washing it, using our EVO PRO Shampoo and removing as much debris and fallout from the paint with a mild green claybar, which helps remove embedded dirt from the paint. Once we were done decontaminating the paint Josh our shop foreman and JR began to paint correct the Ferrari with our EVO 21 Polisher and a combination of foam and microfiber pads with EVO 3000, and 2000 finishing polishes to get the paint looking as flawless as possible without removing too much paint as it was already thin to begin with.
When they were done paint correcting it was time for the real challenge for Maxwell our in house PPF expert to begin full body PPF install on this beast. He would have help later on from our friends over at SSCUSTOMS from the bay area in California came down to help us out as this wouldve been a much longer process without them. Maxwell installed the hood fenders, and a door on his own the night before Alfonso, and Shareef the owner of SScustoms came arrived to begin assisting with the rest of the installation. It was amazing to watch these three work together and collaborate to figure out the best way to provide the best results for the customer. The toughest part of the install for them was definitely the back panels as it has deep concave body lines that look beautiful, but dont leave much room for error when installing PPF which if done properly should be completely invisible to the normal eye. It took the boys 3 full days to wrap the entire vehicle as they had to try several different application methods to get it down properly.
Once the PPF was installed we applied our EVO PRO Graphene Ceramic Coating to the entire vehicle which will provide yet another layer of protection to the PPF, and helping promote a longer life for the PPF Film. The wheels, and calipers were also coated in our EVO Pro Wheel and Caliper coating allowing them to be cleaned and washed more easily than before and keeping a shine like when new.
The owner is someone who we've known for a long time, and as always wishes to remain anonymous which we respect. He loved the final results, and the car looked like night and day from the day it arrived to the day it left from GLOSS IT HQ.
