Pikmin 4 - Cavern for a King sublevel 20 - Final Boss - Perfect - No Pikmin lost

This is the last level and the toughest Boss of Pikmin 4. This is a brutal boss. It took me several iterations to get through and even then it was hard to navigate all the mines he put in place to make it difficult to attack him.
Louie rides his back the entire time. It took me 45 minutes with a few restarts.....and this was not the first iteration to attack him.
Phase 1 he starts out jumping and running around while rock spikes fall from the sky. Try to get him to run into one of the rock spikes and then he gets woozy and his tail drops. As soon as it drops go for the tail, he will eventually flip over at which time go for it with everything you have. Try to stay as close but far enough away before he flips or his tremor will throw all of your pikmin around and slow down your attack.
Phase 2 he turns to a frozen version and spews frozen hairballs? around. As he is blowing freezing air, go for the dropped tail. Same thing, he will get woozy and flip over. Give him everything you got at that point.
Phase 3 he turns to a electric version. It is pretty easy to get rid of the electric balls he throws out. He runs around and eventually hits the wall and gets woozy. If you have cleared the electric balls you can attack his tail. Give him everything you got once he flips over.
Phase 4 he turns to a fire version. Watch out for the fireballs. He will shot some from his mouth and then will send out rings of fire. As the rings expand jump and head for the tail. Give him everything you got once he flips over.
And just when you thought it was over guess what, it is not. Phase 5 is brutal. I used the tactic of running around the gloom patches and attacking his tail after he roars. Be careful as he shoots a beam which is when you should attack. If you do not get there in time he roars which will cause your pikmin to panic and running around and die in the gloom patches.
I did read later that you can use a Lightning Shock item to attack while he is in the air. I did not try this as I did not know about it. To get to this just hold down Y button, navigate to the right and select the Lightning Shock. You can purchase from Russ at the Lap for 30 Raw material. May be a good thing to stock up on at the end.
