The U.S. Military First Strike Ration, or FSR for short, is a meal kit designed to feed a soldier for a full 24 hour period. It essentially takes the place of 3 individual MREs, saving space and weight. The contents are easier to prepare and consume on-the-go than the standard MRE. This field ration is issued to, fast moving, combat troops in the early stages of an assault. The FSR provides about 2900 calories and truly is the most "Ready to Eat" Meal Ready to Eat.
