My sax teacher and good friend Harumo Imai joins me today for a podcast/mini jam session! Harumo started playing the alto sax with her junior high school band at age 13. From 3 years old, she played the “electone” (electric organ) and loved to play funk, big band, jazz, and soul fusion numbers. Harumo prefers the more robust sound of the tenor sax and has been playing a Selmer Mark 6, arguably the most expensive and best sax in the world. During Covid, Harumo’s live performances are restricted, but she has continued her music activity, creating and recording some originals at home.
