The Stellar Asset sandbox was created in a partnership between Cheesecake labs and the Stellar development foundation as a tool to facilitate asset issuance and management in the Stellar testnet.
The asset sandbox does not hold any information about your accounts and assets, it makes use only of information that is publicly available on-chain. As a non-custodial solution, it does not control the account's keys, therefore it does not control the accounts directly. For that, the Freighter wallet is used to hold custody of the accounts and to sign and authorize transactions.
In this video, Fifo from Cheesecake Labs demonstrates how to use the Stellar Asset Sandbox to issue and distribute your own asset in the Stellar testnet.
