St Germain is the most popular Elderflower Liqueur in the world, but today I’ll show you how to make it cheaper and better at home, using foraged elderflowers for a citrusy, fresh and balanced Liqueur that will be perfect for Summer! First using a sous vide, I’ll show you how to prepare the Liqueur, including a special ingredient: Sodium Citrate. To understand how it works, I invited my go-to chemist among bartenders, Darcy O’Neil from the channel Art of Drink, who will explain the uses of this ingredient in the drink industry. Finally, after that quick science lesson, we’ll make the best known elderflower summer drink, the Hugo Spritz, and I’ll also talk to you a bit about its history, so it’s going to be an action pack episode!
