Termite swarmers look like flying ants. They won’t bite or sting you, but they can take a bite out of your wallet!

They look like ants with wings, but there are some differences that can help you tell them apart. Termite swarmers have a red head or all-black body and four wings, which are all of equal length. You may find them flocking around a window or other source of sunlight, trying to get out and find a new home out in the environment. Their goal is to get out into nature.

What are they doing?

• Swarmers are looking for mates to start new colonies.
• They use windows to escape outside.
• They look for wet or soft wood or the meeting point in wood joints like eaves on the outside of the house to get easy access

If you see swarmers inside, your house is under attack. Get a professional inspection ASAP to make sure you get the problem handled quickly. The easiest way to save money is to get the infestation taken care of quickly. The longer you wait, the more damage they can do, the more costly it will be to take care of.
