月が綺麗ですね (Tsuki ga kirei desu ne) in English, literally means "The moon is beautiful, isn't it". This was "coined" by the Japanese novelist Natsume Sōseki when one of his students translated "I love you" to "Ware kimi wo aisu". He then corrected him and said that the Japanese people don't say "I love you" so directly as at the time, they were quite reserved. It is instead better to say, "The moon is beautuful, isn't it?".
I personally love this phrase and how cute it is. The anime, named Tsuki ga Kirei is also extremely cute.
