ARTE MUSEUM Overview
d’strict has opened the Korea’s largest immersive media art exhibition ‘ARTE MUSEUM’ at Jeju, Aewol, in the end of September, 2020.
‘ARTE MUSEUM’ is built on a grand venue with the size of 4,500sqm, the highest height of 10-meters, after renovating the site where it used to be a speaker manufacturing factory. Under the theme of ‘ETERNAL NATURE’, ten different subjects and spaces are introduced through different media technologies in the exhibition zones; FLOWER, GARDEN, BEACH, WATERFALL, WORMHOLE, STAR, WAVE, NIGHT SAFARI, MOON, JUNGLE. You may also be able to experience ‘ARTE TEA BAR’ where media art meets F&B. Every exhibition halls are designed to provide not only the impressive visual experiences, also different mixture of sensuous sounds and fragrances suitable for each exhibition zones that immerse you into a new experience stimulating your sense of visual, hearing and smell.
More than 120,000 visitors have visited ‘ARTE MUSUEM’ within two months after the opening, endeared to the public. d’strict is planning to introduce new art pieces consistently under the theme of ‘ETERNAL NATURE’, furthermore, introduce ‘ARTE MUSEUM’ in different locations; both Korea and globe. 디스트릭트는 2020년 9월말 제주도 애월에 국내 최대 규모의 몰입형 미디어아트 전시관 'ARTE MUSEUM'을 오픈 하였습니다.
'ARTE MUSEUM'은 과거 스피커 제조 공장으로 사용되던 바닥 면적 1,400평, 최대 높이 10m에 달하는 웅장한 건물을 리뉴얼하여 재 탄생하였습니다. 'ETERNAL NATURE'라는 주제 하에 자연 속 10가지 소재와 공간을 이형적인 미디어를 결합하여 FLOWER, GARDEN, BEACH, WATERFALL, WORMHOLE, STAR, WAVE, NIGHT SAFARI, MOON, JUNGLE 각각의 전시 공간으로 구현하였고, Media art와 결합된 F&B 시설인 'ARTE TEA BAR' 또한 만나보실 수 있습니다. 모든 전시 공간은 강렬한 시각적 경험과 더불어 각 작품의 주제에 맞는 감각적인 사운드와 향기를 결합 연출하여 관람객은 시각과 청각, 후각을 아우르는 몰입 경험을 체험할 수 있습니다.
'ARTE MUSEUM'은 오픈 2개월 만에 12만명이 넘는 관람객들이 방문하며 많은 대중들의 사랑을 받고 있습니다. 디스트릭트는 'ETERNAL NATURE'라는 주제 하에 지속적으로 새로운 작품들을 만들고 이를 활용해 향후 국내 및 해외 각 지역에 'ARTE MUSEUM'을 확산할 계획입니다. 'ARTE MUSEUM'의 공식 온라인 채널을 통해 앞으로 업데이트 될 소식들을 확인하시기 바랍니다.
