LIMBO (My Hardest Demon) by MindCap and more | Geometry Dash
Don't ask me how I managed to beat this in only 3 weeks. I have no idea, either. I genuinely thought this was going to be a 2-month project.
I really think LIMBO was the best level I could have chosen as a new hardest. I've spent so much time talking about how much I dislike memory levels and how I'd never beat one. LIMBO always stood out to me, though. I've always seen it as a masterpiece and one of the best levels of all time.
A friend of mine convinced me to try learning this for fun and to see if I could actually handle this much memory. To my surprise, I learned it rather fast (only 2 days) and decided to commit to it as I had already found it really fun. Nobody, not even myself, expected me to even attempt this level, let alone beat it. But I'm glad I followed through because it was an amazing experience.
My previous opinions about LIMBO being a masterpiece were correct. Nearly every part is so interesting and makes your brain hurt (as it should) while also being extremely fun and satisfying. And even though the first 36% is much harder than 36-100%, each of your attempts is bound to last a while in the later stages of beating the level, and while that may not seem like a good thing, the beginning never got boring to me.
The entirety of 51-100% had some of the most intense and enjoyable gameplay I've ever played. KWMS and Surv had the most enjoyable parts in my opinion. KWMS's part in particular very pleasing to watch with how much is moving around, but both felt so good to play in general (except the 53% double click).
There were two parts that heavily brought my enjoyment down, which were Jeyzor and Stormfly's wave part. Jeyzor's part was simply way harder than every other part in the level to me, and passing the ship in particular always felt like RNG from 0. Stormfly's wave part, while not wholly difficult, had a couple of extremely dumb clicks, one of which being the infamous 48% dash orb. It can still get very consistent, but the part overall just felt very awkward and unenjoyable.
I'm really glad I enjoyed this level. I was worried I would grow to heavily dislike it over time, but that never happened. I also like how appealing this level is to memory enthusiasts, even with it being extremely difficult.
I can't imagine this being my final hardest. With how quickly I got it done, I have a feeling I can go quite a bit further. Stay tuned in the future. :)
