I am a disabled content creator. I am Autistic and ADHD. It isn't something I talk about since it is very personal, but I want to raise awareness because I struggle most days and have kept it to myself, until now. Please watch this video until the end (if you can, or indeed want to).
This video is not clickbait in any way. A few weeks ago I almost gave up creating content as I felt unable to cope with the (seemingly innocuous) negative comments that content creators inevitably have to endure. While I appreciate that you may not find the comments particularly upsetting, it is very different for me as an autistic woman. I am fine, now, but it is only with love, support and a damn good therapist that I feel able to continue. I have been silenced for too long.
April 2024 is Autism Awareness Month and I have mentioned my friend Sarah Northwood in the video - Sarah has written a wonderful book which I will link below. Do take a look if you want to support a fellow creator.
