Russian forces reportedly launched several missile attacks on Odesa Oblast on August 17. Reports claim Russia struck a military airfield in Zhytomyr Oblast, damaging the runway and several cars. Ukraine claims a Russian Sukhoi Su-34 aircraft conducted an airstrike with two Kh-59 Ovod guided cruise missiles. Russian forces have allegedly set up a torture chamber where around 60 Ukrainian prisoners are being held.

meanwhile, Ukraine’s Presidential advisor, Mykhailo Podolyak says Ukraine is aiming to “create chaos within Russian forces”. Estonia, a former USSR nation, is removing Soviet-era monuments from public spaces across the country
