Hi, This is Tokyo Sushi Academy English course.

Today we will share new video about how to make FUTOMAKI.

According to the old lunar calendar of Japan, February 3rd is the day before the first day of spring. To ward off illness and misfortune, on this day Japanese families scatter roasted soy beans inside their homes and out of every window and door. February 3rd is called “Setsubun” which translates as “bean scattering ceremony day”. We traditionally eat “Eho-maki” on the day. Eho-maki is a kind of FUTOMAKI.

Let's try to make and eat it on February 3rd to bring good fortune together. We also share how to make Western style Futomaki, too. Enjoy watching the difference of them!
