Vidit Gujrathi played 1.e4 against Alireza Firouzja in the 6th round of the FIDE Candidates 2024. The French GM responded with the Sicilian and went for the Classical variation. This is an opening that Vidit played a lot in his childhood. Firouzja played the provocative Qb6 and going back to d8 and then coming back to b6 and snatching f2.
