Arcade Racing games are secretly some of the best chill games around, yet also very versatile. Born, as it says on the tin, in the arcades, they can also be extremely competitive, being one of those few genres that can serve a wide range of tastes.
Now that I've gotten into the business of making top ten lists, I had to get around to an arcade racers list sooner or later, and I really hope this one in particular introduces you to some great games that you never knew about before.
Also, in the interest of time, I couldn't dispense as many honorable mentions as I feel are deserved, so let it be said that the absence of games like R4, Maximum Tune (which I will confess is probably due to a lack of personal experience more than anything), Sega Rally 2006, SCUD Race, and Ridge Racer 3D should not be taken as any kind of dig at them, this is just such a deep and wonderful genre that I could be here for days talking about everything that's great about it.
