IVE 아이브 'Either Way', 'Off The record', 'Baddie' MV REACTION
They really took this opportunity to showcase variety didn't they?! From what I understand, those three songs are three title tracks right? And yet, I understand why they decided to leave 'Baddie' for last! It's the one that is, in my opinion, the most impactful one even though the song in itself isn't that powerful. At least not that much compared to other or typical girl crush song. This is something I have discussed before but I find a lot of their songs to be almost subdued and not that explosive? But the songs still feel of quality because they managed to embody the proper vibes to deliver the songs correctly. Here for 'Baddie', they definitely did embody the feline quality of a cat and its behaviour! The idgaf, majestic, almost bored expression of a cat vibes were amazing and fitted the whole mystical concept too! Absolutely loved the MV for the three of them, for different reasons obviously but cinematographically speaking, all of them were great! Loved the more vulnerable and raw vibes for 'Either way' and the retelling of fairy tales in 'Off the record'!
My ranking as of now would be 1)Baddie, 2)Either way and 3)Off the record but I know that depending on my mood that ranking could really easily change.
I have to admit though, that while I loved 'Baddie' on a first listen (and I realise how ironic this is sounding), I don't think this comeback to be as impactful as their previous one. Neither of these three songs can compete with the masterpiece that 'IAM' is still in my opinion. But I guess that only goes to show that they are bringing diversity to the table, and that is something that I cannot complain about!
