AERIAL: Lake Waco, parks flooded amid heavy rainfall in Bosque watershed (May 6, 2024)

Mike Champagne, Lake Waco manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, said on Monday that recent rainfall caused the lake’s water levels to rise almost 19.5 feet above normal.
He said eight Lake Waco parks and one access point were closed due to flooding in the area, but Bosque Park and the Waco Dam access point were the two lake facilities unaffected.
The lake stood at more than 481.7 feet above sea level Monday afternoon, compared to its normal level of 462 feet. Its two highest crests were 488.5 feet in 1991 and 486 feet in 2007.
