Crashing My New Lamborghini 5 Days Into Ownership! Track Day Gone Wrong!

👋 Todays did not go as planned! 5 days ago I bought my all time childhood dream car! This amazing 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2. Unfortunately while attending the charity laps at VIR, on turn 6 I spun out right into a tire wall. We've been doing this event for about 8 years in a row and every car I've owned I've driven on this track. During the dry conditions in session number 1 I was going about 100 MPH in this section. This session had a just a few minutes of sprinkling rain and I did slow down while on track to take precautions for the weather. This time around I was going about 70 MPH and hitting the apex of the turn the back end of my Lamborghini spun out instantly. Split second all I see is smoke on the right side and then a fast approaching tire wall. Thankfully my wife and I walked out of the car with no injuries and the car is actually still running and structurally sound. Just a lot of cosmetic damage! Had I been going faster and we hit the metal guard rail or hit in a different way, I don't know what the outcome would have been for either of us or the car. Same day a C8 Corvette and Mustang did the same exact thing and crashed where I did! Also the next day a Mustang race car did the same thing in this spot and had the same damage! So apparently turn 6 is a bit of a sketchy section unfortunately.
God was wathcing over us and kept us safe and the car is fixable! Very sad situation and certainly puts a damper on my first week of owning my dream car. But we will stay positive through this and rebuild my dream Lamborghini! Certainly never thought an 18 year dream of owning a Lamborghini would turn into wrecking my new Lamborghini within a week of ownership!
