This is part of a longer JPEG and RAW photo repair video:

Most commonly reported issue when using JPEG-Repair to repair corrupt JPEG headers is 'no SOS detected'. So instead of 'File appears to be damaged, corrupted or is too large' you now have to deal with a new error message, which can be frustrating, I get that.
It basically means it is not just the header that is corrupt. In this video I'll show you:
- what it means
- how you can determine IF the file can be repaired
- an example repair
Please understand JPEG-Repair, or any software, can not magically make JPEG data reappear that's not there. In order to be able to repair a file, the data actually has to be there.
JPEG-Repair is shareware and can be found at my website
