Ever noticed how the spine of a newly purchased More Companion Stainless knife is quite dull and incapable of scraping? In today’s video, I’ll demonstrate how to use an angle grinder to transform those deeply rolled over corners into sharp 90° angles. With just 20 light passes down the length of the spine (excluding the tip), we’ll remove about 1/16” of material, turning your knife into a super scraper.
But that’s not all! While we have the grinder out, I’ll also show you my technique for pointing ferro rods. This method not only makes the ferro rods more stable, but also allows for a deeper scrape to deposit maximum ferrocerium onto the tinder.
