How To Make A Grease Lamp And It's Wick

Cut 2” off the bottom of a freshly drained V8 can. Pull off a 1/4” x 18” strip of cotton t-shirt then reverse wrap it into a wick. Drain from a lawnmower 3 ozs of oil into the 2" tall can. Tie the wick into a loose knot, judge how much tail you need sticking up, then thread that tail through the weave. Saturate the entire wick in oil. Weigh the wick down with a stone. Ignite wick with a fatwood match you've Ferro Rod ignited. Burn lamp about 12 hours, or more or snuff with another can.
